Fats are essential to hormone health.  It is important to distinguish between unhealthy trans fats (hydrogenated vegetable oil) and healthy saturated fats from animal and vegetable sources.  The “good” fats are traditional fats that have been around for centuries, such as meat, dairy (like butter and cream) made from grass-fed cows, ghee, avocados, coconut milk, lard, beef tallow, and certain oils like coconut oil, palm oil and extra virgin olive oil.  These healthy saturated fats provide the building blocks for a variety of hormones and hormone-like substances in the body.  Remember, the best way to obtain these vital nutrients is through food.  But if your diet is lacking high-quality saturated fats, then you can take supplements accordingly.
